All applications are to be made online. The application form is made available on this website between 1st and 10th March only. Places are not allocated on a first come first served basis. Applications will only be reviewed after the 10th March. Please make sure you have read and understood the following before making an application for your child.
- There are minimum recommended age limits for all courses. See individual course pages for details.
- For the higher end courses (stage 3 and above), parents and children need to understand that merely completing a course one year and then enrolling on the next RYA stage the following summer with no practice in between is not sufficient. Copies of the child’s log book may be requested in order to be accepted on to the higher end courses. We reserve the right to remove your child from the course if their ability is not up to the required standard. For these courses, children must provide their own Topper in good working order. We will not allow Toppers on the water if they are not fit for purpose (see Topper preparation guide under the course information page).
For 2023, we will run Seamanship Skills (age 15 and above) within the main Sail Training week. The Assistant Instructor course will be run prior to the main event on Thursday 20th – Sunday 23rd July.
Prices: Prices are per child. All applicants are only allowed to do one course. We offer subsidized prices for those that live locally, educate their children in a local state school and request that they need the subsidy.
Responses: We intend to get back to all applicants by the end of April. Please note that following the offer of a place on a course, full payment (online only) will be required to secure that place.
